A little more than half of summer vacation is gone. It's funny how I had been moping around the last few days saying I was so bored. But after watching a drunk driver almost kill himself and his older brother and many of the new experiences lately, my summer hasn't been boring but rather interesting. I have learned so much in so little time. I needed to time to just realize what I needed and what I wanted. The following are some of my thoughts and life lessons.

1. Life is just way too short to go moping around wishing for something better or wishing for the good times of the past. The past will never come back, let's just face it.

2. Love can come more than once in a lifetime. If the ex isn't in love with you and you still have feelings for them do something about it. If that person was just another unhealthy relationship and you only want them back because you miss being loved or are lonely then you'll never be able to meet the person who will truly love you one day.

3. It's ok for a girl to sleep around sometimes, but within reason (don't go having sex with every Tom Dick and Harry every night. A guy once every week or two weeks isn't that bad. Be careful, take precautions, bring condoms and be safe, ). It helps get over the one you were pining for especially when they don't love you.

4. Tell people how you feel about them. Almost all my friends are moving away and it's just important for me to thank them for being a friend, tell them you hate them, tell them you love them if you love them. I had a crush of 5 years and it just felt so good to let him know (before he went off to Afghanistan) that I loved and supported him and would always be here when he needed me.

5. Be true to yourself. I just needed to learn what I loved, needed and how to pursue what is right for me. Why should I care what others think of me.

6. Be more social, I need to make new friends and get out there and let them see me for the wonderful person that I am.

7. Stop complaining and start doing. If you don't like your life do something about it

8. No one can ever love you if you can't love yourself.

9. Women always have traits like their mothers. Ok as much as I don't get along with mine, we are just way too a like. We're outspoken, caring and demand respect for ourselves and others.

10. Question authority. After listening to the new Lupe Fiasco album, I realize that I was so uninformed about many political aspects in the modern age. Wikipedia is an amazing tool in understanding them and getting an unbiased opinion. But it's good to hear both sides of an argument to understand what you actually believe.

11. Be wild, be crazy. I'm too young to feel this old.

12. Laughter is really great medicine, crying clears the soul.
